The Netherlands have voted

87 percent of Dutch voters did not vote for Geert Wilders and his "Party for Freedom". Since none of the other major parties wants to form a coalition with Geert Wilders, Wilders is caught between political powerlessness and "metapolitical omnipotence".

The Netherlands has elected a new parliament. But not the power-political realities and possibilities were the focus of the international political commentators in this election, but the visions and ambitions of Geert Wilders. The media's focus on Wilders can be explained by the fact that, following Donald Trump's election success in the USA, people and parties in Europe receive special attention who attack established structures head-on and break cultural taboos with pleasure and egomaniacal bizarreness.
