The time is ripe to revitalise the culture of the honourable merchant and its application as an honourable financial merchant.

Because a financial service is a credence good, the core of corporate responsibility in this sector particularly it consists of maintaining trustworthiness. This requires the culture of the honourable financial merchant. The honourable merchant is at the intersection of ethics and economics. As a result, it can be shown that honourable behaviour is commercially necessary, and that commercial behaviour is a moral imperative.
