The EU shoots back

The EU is reactivating the 1996 Blockade Statute, which allows European companies to be penalised for not complying with US sanctions. Whether Trump will bring about the impending trade war between the EU and the US may depend on progress and setbacks in the trade dispute with China, which illustrates the dangerous idiocy of Trump's global tariff protection furor. With its global protectionist foreign trade policy, Trump has virtually cleared the way for the People's Republic of China to gain ever more space and weight in geopolitical terms.
