Say on pay - More power to shareholders (?)

The shareholders of major European groups can look forward to the coming year. With the implementation of the amended EU Shareholders' Rights Directive, their right to a say in management board compensation in Germany will be significantly extended.

In other European countries, owners have for some time had the opportunity to make a legally binding judgement on the remuneration system. This article examines how exactly these rights of codetermination have been developed in the individual member states to date and to what extent shareholders have exercised their rights in recent years.
