Polarization and political blockades in the USA

by Norbert F. Tofall

Polarizations arise in modern society primarily when, firstly, the causes of problems and conflicts are not attributed to unsuitable advantage and incentive structures, but to the lack of morality of individual actors, and secondly, the entire society is to be committed to common goals.

Political polarizations in the USA generally lead to political blockades due to the system of checks and balances. Irrespective of the concrete outcome of the 2016 presidential election, it is unlikely that there will be an economic turnaround worthy of the name.
