More market in China?

The IMF assumes that China could have a freely floating exchange rate system in two to three years' time.

With regard to China's further economic and social development, however, current events raise the question of the extent to which the so-called market economy reforms in China represent a special form or further development of the "Asian mode of production" (Karl Marx) and the "Asian despotism" (Karl August Wittfogel).
