Italy's budget dispute with EU Commission

Italy speculates that the European Commission, the other euro countries and the ECB want to prevent a disorderly break-up of the monetary union and that therefore no corresponding majorities will be formed in the Council of the European Union and the Governing Council of the European Central Bank to effectively sanction Italy. On the whole, it is not unlikely that the Italian blackmail will be successful and that both the debt rules of the monetary union will be definitively repealed and the euro will be irasculated by the ECB.
