German corporations in times of the corona crisis - better than their reputation

With the Corona pandemic, the survival of many companies in Germany was suddenly called into question. But just how resilient are major German companies really?

Will it now be the fate of the companies that they have raised cheap loans in the wake of ever falling interest rates? Have the companies focused too long on the continuity of their dividends and lost sight of the long-term preservation of their assets? And what is to be made of the fact that, although companies have for many years delighted their shareholders with substantial dividends, they now suddenly have to be rescued at the taxpayer's expense?

We want to address these questions in the context of the present evaluation. To this end, we will analyse selected balance sheet figures of HDAX companies.
